In 1995, Alex Casella began working for the illustrious Steinway & Sons under the tutelage of some of the worlds finest and well respected piano technicians. Here he learned not only how to tune a piano but also how to build both grands and uprights. This would prove to be an invaluable education. Starting out in the 100 year old Long Island City factory, he eventually went on to work in the famed Steinway Hall (their flagship showroom and a landmark at that!) where he learned the delicate nuances of the piano and fine tuned his skills. After over 5 years working for Steinway it was time to make it out out on his own and A.C.E. Piano Tuners was born. Since then A.C.E. Piano Tuners has worked for Ryuichi Sakamoto, Eveginy Kissin, the Black Crowes, Bob Dylan, the Mavericks, Raul Malo, Harry Connick Jr., Yoko Ono, Phillip Glass, Steely Dan, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Wynton Marsalis, Coco Rosie, Carnegie Hall, the City Center, Radio City Music Hall, the 92nd Street Y, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Natural History, the Rose Center for Earth and Space, NYU, Columbia University, Avatar Studios, S.O.S.
